Scenography of "The Storm" for Artmasters 2020 contest

«The Storm» by A. Ostrovsky
Scenography concept  for Artmasters 2020 contest. It advanced to the final round and won the Audience Award.
The main idea of scenography was to make the space which shows the society through metaphor with its feelings and lifestyle of main characters. That's why I tried to show it as a rusty throtten ship, usual and comfortable for inhabitants, and hard and inconsistent for spectators.
The costruction of the ship is multilevel, and whith moving of stage circle it creates a lot of different mise-en-scènes. The water around the ship, lattice structure of construction and light that reflects and streams through this materials and volume rust facture, together it supplements the dramatic atmosphere. Moving LED screens add specific focus to the scene and in denouement moment it shows the transformation of the soul of the main character.

At the final round was 10 contestants of the competition, they made the models of their ideas on the scale of 1:20. Here some of the photographs of my process.

The light conсeption is in few spot beams on main character mostly in orange, red and blue colors and gentle ambient backlight.
